If you are planning on purchasing a scooter, the first thing that comes to your mind is whether you should get an electric or gas powered one? When it comes to deciding between the two, various things come to mind from the cost to durability. Lucky for you, we have the insights for you so you can get a better idea of which of the two is more suitable for you.

Electric vs Gas Powered Scooter Facts and Figures

Both electric and gas powered scooters have a decent range of speed. Most electric scooters go from 8 mph to about 15 mph, some even claim to go over 20 mph but they rarely top that speed. Gas scooters, however, can range in speed from 15-30 mph so are much faster. If you want a scooter that is fast then gas is definitely the better option.

While both scooters cost roughly the same amount when you purchase them, electric scooters are obviously much cheaper in the long run. All you have to do is charge the scooter and you can run it for hours. Gas scooter requires gas to run which can end up racking up the cost of it.

Electric scooters are practically noise-less. They produce little to no noise while gas scooters are quite loud, they can be compared to a lawnmower in terms of noise. So if you want something that is quite then an electric scooter is a better option for you.

Similar to cars, electric is the way to go. With gas, you give off emissions that harm you and the environment. It may not be as much pollution as you get with a car but it still is a lot more when compared to an electric scooter. So if you care about the environment than get an electric scooter.

For younger adults and kids, electric scooter usability is much better. It doesn’t require them to be in contact with the gas, they can easily charge the scooter using an outlet and use it when they need.

Electric scooters have a battery that needs to be recharged and if you don’t get high-end scooter chances are the battery will eventually die out. Gas scooters tend to be slightly more durable than electric ones but if you do get a high-end electric scooter than it can prove to be quite durable.
